Our maid uses bleach for the bathroom and the smell fills the whole house, i suddenly got worried if its okay to be around that now that im pregnant. Should i be staying away from it completely?
Occasional use in a well ventilated room with gloves is generally considered okay, but dont mix it with other cleaners ever, that gas is dangerous. I just switched to milder cleaners to be safe both times.
The main thing is the fumes and skin contact. Keep windows open, use gloves, and dont lean over it inhaling. Honestly its easier to use a gentler cleaner during these months. Ask your gynac if you are unsure.
I would avoid strong bleach honestly, the fumes are quite harsh. If you must use it, open all windows, wear gloves and dont breathe it in directly. When in doubt let someone else do that cleaning, no need to risk it.
My MIL straight away took over the bathroom cleaning when I was pregnant, said no bleach for you. Honestly it was a relief, let the family help with that. Better to stay away from strong fumes na.
