Im 5 months and we dont have help right now so I do the sweeping myself. That bending position makes me wonder if its putting pressure on the belly. MIL keeps telling me to stop. Is it actually fine to continue?
Haan thoda thoda chalega par zyada jhuk jhuk ke mat karo na, baad ke mahino me back pe pressure aata hai. Lambe handle wala broom le lo, easy ho jata hai. Pain ho to turant chhod do.
Light brooming is okay in early months but the constant bending and squatting gets hard and risky later, especially on the back and belly. I switched to a long handle broom and got help for the floor cleaning. Listen to your body, dont strain.
A bit of light cleaning is generally fine in a normal pregnancy, my mother did till quite late. But dont push yourself with the deep bending kind, get a long handled one. And if your doctor has advised rest, then leave it to others.
My MIL kept saying jhadu pochha is good exercise haha, but honestly all that bending tired me a lot in later months. I started using a standing mop and broom with long stick so I didnt have to squat. Do whats comfortable, dont over exert to prove a point.
I was told to avoid heavy bending and squatting because of my condition. So before deciding, ask your own doctor since it depends on your case. If you do light work, stop the moment you feel any pulling, dizziness or pain and sit down.
