My MIL keeps telling me to stop white bread and switch to brown for breakfast. I do like it but not sure if its really better during pregnancy or just hype. Anyone been eating it through their pregnancy?
I had GD so I had to watch all breads carefully, even brown. Whole grain is better but portion still matters with sugar issues. If you have any sugar concern please ask your doctor about quantity.
Honestly normal homemade roti from atta is just as good and cheaper than fancy brown bread. But if you like bread, the whole wheat one is fine. Dont fall for expensive 'multigrain' marketing.
Whole grain brown bread is generally a healthy option in pregnancy. Just go for genuine whole wheat ones and not the maida ones dyed brown. For any diet doubts your gynac or dietitian can guide best.
I love my toast and brown bread was my go to during pregnancy, felt less guilty than white haha. Real whole wheat is the way to go. Add some veggies on top and its a decent snack.
Brown bread or whole wheat is a better choice than white, more fibre which helps with the constipation everyone gets. I used to have it for breakfast. Just check the label, some 'brown' breads are just coloured white bread.
