I have to travel to my parents place and its around 5 hours by bus. Im 6 months along and the roads are not the smoothest. Just worried if all that bumping is okay for the baby. has anyone done a long bus trip while pregnant?
Depends a lot on your pregnancy honestly. With my high risk one the doctor told me to avoid bumpy long journeys. If yours is smooth, short rides are okay, but for long distance especially in 3rd trimester, ask your gynac first.
Short bus rides are usually fine, I travelled by bus till my 7th month for work. Just sit, dont stand in a moving bus, and avoid the very bumpy long routes if you can. Keep water and a snack with you.
Beta I travelled by bus the whole time, no problem. Bas seat le lena and dont stand. Carry paani and biscuit. Long ride ho to thoda rest karke jaana, that's all.
I did daily bus commute, totally manageable. Try to get a seat near the front, less bumpy there, and avoid peak crowd hours so you arent pushed around. Take it slow getting on and off, that's where I was most careful.
For normal pregnancies a bus ride is fine dear, women do it all the time. Just don't strain standing, keep yourself hydrated and take breaks on long trips. For very long journeys late in pregnancy, just run it by your doctor.
