Calcium is fine and important, but take it only as your doctor prescribes. Mine started me on it after first checkup. Dont start any supplement on your own though.
My gynac told me calcium usually gets added a little later but some start early depending on diet and reports. She also said dont take calcium and iron at the same time, gap them out. So follow your own doctors plan.
I had the same doubt early on. My doctor said calcium itself is safe in pregnancy, just the timing and dose she decides. Did anyone else get it only after 12 weeks? Mine started a bit late.
Along with the tablet my mom made sure I had milk, curd, ragi all that for natural calcium. But the supplement part, only what your doctor writes na. They decide the right time.
Calcium is part of the regular pregnancy supplements, totally safe when prescribed. The generic versions are cheap too, ask your doctor if you want a lighter on pocket option.
