My mom keeps making this in different ways and now im in my second trimester so just wondering if its actually fine to eat regularly. Anyone here had it during pregnancy?
We eat tapioca quite a bit down south and I had it cooked well during pregnancy. The key is it must be properly cooked, never raw or undercooked. In moderation it was fine for me, but check with ur gynac if u have sugar concerns.
Cassava is quite starchy so with my GD I had to limit it. If your sugar is normal, a small portion well cooked is okay. Just dont make it a big part of every meal, balance with veggies and protein.
Cooked cassava in moderation is generally fine, the main caution is it must be cooked thoroughly. It is high in carbs, so portion matters. As always, if u have any condition, your doctor's advice on diet is best.
