Heard some older women in my family talking about castor oil for easy delivery and im a bit unsure about all this. Im 30 weeks now. Doesnt sound safe to me but wanted to know what others think before i even consider it.
For pregnancy taking castor oil internally is generally a no unless a doctor specifically advises near term. There are real risks people dont realise. Whatever the reason u are asking, run it by ur gynac, dont experiment.
Please dont take castor oil by mouth during pregnancy on ur own, people say it triggers labour and that can be risky. I would never try that without a doctor. If u are thinking of it for any reason, pls ask ur gynac first.
I would gently say avoid it. Lot of old remedies float around about castor oil and labour but it can cause strong cramping. Not worth the risk on ur own. Talk to ur doctor for anything like this.
If u mean drinking it to start labour, no no, dont do that yourself. Thats not safe to self try. For applying on hair or skin externally its different, but anything internal must go through ur doc.
I never used it during my pregnancy at all. I had heard mixed things so I just avoided and stuck to whatever my doctor approved. Safer to check with her than rely on whatsapp tips.
