My doctor wrote cefixime 200 for a UTI im having, im 14 weeks. I took the first one already but then panicked reading random things online. Just wanted to hear if anyone else was given this during pregnancy, will ask my gynac again also.
Please dont take any antibiotic on your own, even if someone says it is safe. Doctors do prescribe certain antibiotics in pregnancy but only after checking you. Call your gynac and let them decide and dose it.
Some antibiotics in this group are used in pregnancy when needed, but it must be the doctors call, not self prescribed. The dose and need depend on your infection. Honestly just ring your gynac before taking it.
I needed an antibiotic for an infection once and my doctor chose a pregnancy safe one. Never take it without that confirmation though. Pls check with your gynac, dont go by general internet answers.
