Im 14 weeks and have a bad UTI, a doctor mentioned this medicine but I got nervous and didnt take it yet. Want to ask my gynac first before anything. Has anyone been given this during pregnancy?
Some antibiotics are used in pregnancy when genuinely needed, but only a doctor should choose which and the dose. Never self prescribe an antibiotic. A quick visit and they will give the right one if u need it.
For any antibiotic I would strictly go by the gynac. They weigh whether u even need it and pick a safe option. Please dont take it just because someone else was given it.
My doctor did prescribe me an antibiotic during pregnancy for an infection and it was fine. But I really wouldnt say take cefixime on ur own, antibiotics need a prescription. Please let ur gynac decide that one.
