I have a bad cough that wont go and the doctor wants a chest xray done. But im 11 weeks and now im scared it might affect the baby. did anyone get one done during pregnancy?
Chest x rays are sometimes needed and can be done with a lead apron over your belly for protection. But it should only be when your doctor decides its necessary. Always tell them you are pregnant first.
I needed one during pregnancy and they shielded my belly properly after I told them. They only did it because it was necessary. Please dont get any x ray without your gynac knowing and approving.
From what doctors say, a single chest x ray with proper shielding is low risk, but its always a doctor call based on need. Dont avoid a genuinely needed test out of fear. Just keep your gynac in the loop.
