Is cipro safe in pregnancy?

I have an infection and my doctor prescribed Cipro, but I just found out I'm pregnant. Is it safe to take Cipro during pregnancy? I'm a bit concerned.

Research says Ciprofloxacin is typically not recommended during pregnancy as it can affect fetal joint development. My doctor explicitly told me to avoid it and prescribed a different antibiotic.
