Our bedroom is on the first floor so i have to climb up and down many times daily. Im 5 months now and MIL keeps telling me to avoid stairs. Is it really a problem or am i fine?
If your pregnancy is normal and doctor allows, light stair climbing is actually good physical activity. Just don't overdo it or carry heavy things, and keep your diet healthy.
Oh I was so scared of stairs, I literally held the railing with both hands and took 5 minutes to climb one floor! If you feel any dizziness or discomfort, please sit down immediately and check with your doc.
I totally understand how every little thing makes us worry so much. Unless your gynac has told you to avoid it, climbing stairs is totally fine, just walk carefully and pamper yourself.
I think if there are no complications, it should be fine. But please hold the railing and walk very slowly just to be safe, especially in the first few months.
Normally it is perfectly safe unless your doctor has specifically advised bed rest or you have some complications. Just take it slow, don't rush, and stop if you feel tired.
I was wondering about this too because my apartment doesn't have a lift! It's good to know it's safe as long as we go slow and there are no medical issues.
