Is cod liver oil safe during pregnancy?
My mom takes cod liver oil and was suggesting i start too for the baby. Im in my second trimester and a little unsure about taking it without checking. Has anyone taken this during pregnancy?
My gynac specifically said to avoid cod liver oil because of the high vitamin A content, and gave me a pregnancy safe fish oil instead. So its not the same as a regular omega 3 supplement. Definitely check before taking it.
Cod liver oil is high in vitamin A which can be too much in pregnancy, so please dont take it without asking your gynac. I was told to stick to the omega supplement they prescribed instead. Always clear supplements with your doctor first.
