I caught a bad cold and runny nose since yesterday and now im worried if it can affect the baby. Im 16 weeks. Not taking any medicine without asking my doc but just wanted to know is a normal cold something to worry about? anyone else had cold during pregnancy?
Just a cold is harmless, baby is well protected. Rest and fluids are the main thing. The one thing to watch is high fever, if that comes call ur gynac, and never self medicate during pregnancy.
A normal cold is not dangerous for the baby, dont worry. Rest, warm fluids, steam and lots of fluids will see you through. Just dont take any medicine without asking ur doctor first.
A regular cold usually isnt a problem, but I am a bit cautious by nature. If you have fever, breathing trouble or it drags on too long, please get it checked. For just sneezing and blocked nose, home remedies and rest are fine.
We always did warm water gargle, steam and turmeric milk at home for colds, it helped. A simple cold wont harm the baby. But for anything with fever, my doctor said always inform her, so I did.
Beta a small cold happens to everyone. Take steam, warm haldi milk and rest properly, it usually settles. But if you get high fever along with it, then please show the doctor, dont wait.
