Im 18 weeks and have a bad cold, coughing a lot since 3 din. Everytime i cough hard i feel pressure in my pet and it scares me thoda. Can all this coughing affect the baby? anyone faced same?
I just delivered last month and trust me, I had a nasty cough just weeks before my due date. My doctor said it's totally safe, just don't take any random over-the-counter syrups without asking. Honey and ginger tea really helped me get through it.
Normal cough won't harm the baby at all, so take a deep breath. Just try warm haldi doodh or do hot water steam gargles, it works like magic ghar pe. No need to run to the clinic unless you get a fever or it's too severe.
Don't worry beta, a normal cough is harmless as the baby is fully protected inside the womb. But if it's a very dry, continuous cough that is making your tummy muscles sore, definitely check with your gynac once. Keep taking steam and stay warm.
Honestly a little coughing is fine, but please keep sharing this with your doctor during regular follow-ups. I had thyroid issues during my pregnancy so I had to be very careful with my checkups. Just drink warm water and let your gynac know in your next visit to be safe.
Oh dear, I totally understand how scary every small thing feels right now. When I was pregnant, even a simple sneeze made me hold my tummy in panic. But don't stress, our bodies are strong and baby is safe inside. Just rest up and pamper yourself.
I swear I panicked so much when I got a bad cough in my second trimester, I thought the pressure would affect the baby! But my doctor laughed and said the baby is very well cushioned in the amniotic sac. It is totally normal, just keep yourself hydrated.
