My gynac wrote G2P1 on my file and im confused. This is my second pregnancy, first one is a healthy baby. Does the current one count in parity or only after delivery? Trying to understand my own records honestly.
My gynac explained this when I asked about all those G and P numbers on my file. The current pregnancy adds to gravida (total pregnancies) but parity only counts the ones that reached delivery. So no, the one in your tummy right now isnt in parity yet.
Short answer no, the present pregnancy isnt in parity. But honestly the way it is written varies a bit by hospital, so just ask your doctor to read out your G-P score once, mine did and it cleared all my doubts.
Think of it simply, parity = babies already born past a certain week. The current bump counts only once it ends in delivery. Till then it sits in gravida, not parity.
Parity is about pregnancies you already delivered, not the one you are carrying now. So a running pregnancy doesnt get counted in parity yaar, it stays separate.
Oh good ki you asked, I saw G2P1 on my report and got confused too. So this baby im carrying is the 2 in gravida and not in the P part right? Makes sense now.
