There is a lot of dengue going around in our area and im 6 months pregnant, so honestly im scared. Mosquitoes are everywhere in the evening even with the coil on. Is it really risky for the baby if a pregnant lady gets it?
My gynac warned me during monsoon to be very careful about mosquitoes. She said dengue can affect platelet count and needs close monitoring, especially near delivery. Dont take any random fever medicine, only what the doctor prescribes for pregnancy.
If there is even a suspicion of dengue, get to your doctor immediately for a blood test. This is genuinely one where you should not rely on community advice. Better safe and checked early.
Beta prevention is everything here. Use mosquito nets, keep no standing water at home, full sleeves in evening. If fever comes, straight to doctor, no kadha experiments for high fever in pregnancy.
Dont panic but do act quickly if you suspect it. With proper hospital care and monitoring many women get through it fine. The key is not delaying the doctor visit.
Please take this seriously, dengue in pregnancy is not something to manage at home. A friend of mine had it and she was admitted so they could watch her platelets closely. If you have fever, body pain or any spotting go to the hospital fast, dont wait.
