Ive got a bad toothache and the dentist wants to take an xray before treating. Im in my first trimester and got scared the moment he said xray. Did any of u get a dental xray while pregnant? will also ask my gynac before going ahead.
I had a dental issue in my second pregnancy and the dentist took precautions with the apron. They coordinated with my gynac too. Just dont hide your pregnancy from them, always inform.
Dental x rays are usually considered low risk because they shield your belly with a lead apron. But always tell the dentist you are pregnant first. Honestly let them and your gynac decide the timing.
From what my doctors said, with proper shielding its generally fine, especially after first trimester. But the safest route is to tell both dentist and gynac and let them decide. Dont skip needed dental care out of fear though.
