My allergies are acting up really bad this season and i used to take desloratadine before. Now im 14 weeks and scared to take anything without checking. Anyone took this during pregnancy? i'll confirm with my doctor too.
I get so anxious about any tablet in pregnancy, I literally googled everything. Best thing I did was just message my doctor before taking anything. Please do that here too, allergy meds aren't all the same and only she can say if this one's fine for you.
I wouldn't take any allergy medicine in pregnancy without my doctor okaying it, even the common ones. When I had allergies my gynac picked one she was comfortable with for my stage. Please call yours before taking desloratadine, don't go by what worked for someone else.
From what I've seen around the hospital, doctors do choose certain antihistamines in pregnancy but it really depends on which trimester and your history. So I'd just say ring your gynac and ask if this exact one is okay for you, it's a two minute call.
Honestly any medicine in pregnancy is a doctor's call, not a community one. Some antihistamines are used and some are preferred over others depending on trimester. Please ask your gynac specifically about desloratadine for you, I really wouldn't risk self deciding.
