My doctor suggested a dexa injection for something, but I'm feeling a bit hesitant now that I'm pregnant. Is this injection considered safe to take during pregnancy?
I am still very new to all this, but from what I understand, such injections are only given under strict doctor supervision. Please check with your gynac to be absolutely safe and sure.
Oh god, don't go googling steroid injections and scaring yourself! If your gynac has prescribed it, they know exactly what they are doing. Just close Google and listen to your doc.
Don't worry, beta. Doctors only give Dexa injections if they feel it is absolutely necessary for the baby's safety, like if there's a chance of early delivery. Just trust your gynac and don't read too much online.
I've read about this while looking up pregnancy treatments, and it seems it's given for baby's lung development. But honestly, it's a serious medical decision, so definitely ask your doctor about why it's needed.
Dexa is usually given in specific situations like risk of preterm labor to help baby's lungs, but it is a steroid. Since I had complications myself, I strongly recommend asking your doctor why they prescribed it and trust their decision.
