My gynac added a DHA capsule on top of the usual ones and now im taking like 3-4 tablets daily. Is DHA really that important or can i skip it? Feeling its a lot of supplements honestly.
I can't say if it's necessary for everyone, but my doctor prescribed me a DHA capsule from the second trimester onwards. I took it daily along with my iron and calcium tablets throughout my pregnancy.
I know how stressful it is to choose the right supplements, I used to worry if I was missing something important for baby's brain. DHA is very good for the baby, but please don't stress over it. Your doctor will prescribe what is best for you.

DHA is crucial for the baby's brain and eye development, especially if you are vegetarian and not getting it from fish. Most prenatal vitamins now have it included. Check your prescription and ask your gynac to add it if it's missing.
I've read that DHA is very helpful for the baby's brain growth. We are trying to conceive, so I am planning to ask my doctor if I should start taking it beforehand along with folic acid.
After my past miscarriage, I was extremely careful about every single pill. My doctor explained that DHA helps with baby's development, so I took it religiously. Please follow your doctor's advice carefully on this.
