My family cooks a lot with drumsticks, and I enjoy eating them. I'm in my first trimester now, and I'm wondering if drumsticks are safe to include in my diet during pregnancy? I want to make sure I'm eating only safe foods.
Oh, I didn't know we have to check about drumstick too! We are planning to conceive from next month so I am collecting all these food do's and don'ts. Saving this thread, hope we get positive news soon!
Beta, drumsticks are very good for health, my MIL used to make sahjan soup for iron. But don't eat too much of it, excess heat is not good during these days. Thoda sa in sambhar or curry is totally fine, just wash it nicely and cook properly.
Hey, even I was searching about this yesterday only! I am 18 weeks now and craved sambhar with drumsticks so much but got nervous. Did anyone else eat drumsticks in their second trimester? Just want to be sure if its totally safe.
Oh I felt so confused about this too during my first trimester! Honestly, my mom made drumstick curry and I was scared to eat it because of what people say online. But I had a tiny bit and baby was totally fine, it actually felt quite comforting.
Actually, drumsticks are rich in vitamins, but everything should be eaten in moderation. My gynac told me that cooked drumstick is safe, but avoid eating too much raw or semi-cooked stuff. Just ask your doctor once at your next visit to be completely stress-free.
