We get cassava at home sometimes and i had a bit yesterday before realising im not sure if its safe now that im expecting. Read somewhere it needs to be cooked properly. Is it fine in pregnancy or better to skip? a bit worried na.
We make tapioca at home often and I had it cooked properly during pregnancy with no issue. Just make sure it is fully cooked na. My doctor said in moderation it is fine.
Cassava is fine if its properly cooked, never eat it raw or undercooked as it can be harmful. Cook it well and have it in moderation. As long as its prepared right it is a fine carb option.
The key with cassava is thorough cooking, raw cassava is not safe. Cooked properly and eaten in normal amounts it should be okay. If you eat it often, maybe mention it to your doctor, but occasional well cooked cassava is fine.
