My period is due this week and my lower back is hurting more than usual. I dont want to assume pregnancy, but this pain is different from my normal PMS. Has anyone felt strong back pain before getting a positive?
I had a dull lower back ache early on and it turned out I was pregnant, but mine wasnt extreme. Are you also having a late period? That with a test would tell better than the back pain alone.
Some women do feel early backache, but its not a confirm sign by itself and extreme pain especially should be evaluated. If you suspect pregnancy, do a test, and discuss the severe pain with your gynac to rule out other things.
I wouldnt assume extreme pain is just pregnancy. Strong back pain can have other causes too. Best to take a test if your period is late, and if the pain is really bad or with other symptoms, please see a doctor.
Mild back ache can come early due to hormones, but extreme back pain alone is not really a reliable pregnancy sign. Missed period and a positive test are the actual signs. If pain is severe, get it checked regardless.
