My mom adds methi to a lot of things and now im wondering if its fine during pregnancy or i should go easy on it. Im in my first trimester so being cautious with everything. Anyone know about this?
Methi in normal cooking amounts is fine beta, we always added it to dal and sabzi. But large quantities or methi supplements should be avoided in pregnancy. For anything concentrated, better ask your doctor first.
Small amounts as a spice in food are generally fine, but fenugreek in large medicinal quantities is usually advised against in pregnancy. I kept it to cooking only. If u want to take it as a supplement, do check with your gynac.
I mostly heard about methi for boosting milk supply after delivery, which it did help me with later. During pregnancy I just used it in regular food, not as a supplement. Big doses are better avoided while pregnant honestly.
