Woke up feeling warm and a bit weak today, think i might be running a slight fever. Im 16 weeks and now im worried about the baby. Planning to call my doc but wanted to know how worried i should be, anyone had fever during pregnancy?
A mild fever may settle with rest and fluids, but anything high or lasting needs the doctor, no waiting. Never pop any tablet on your own during pregnancy. Always confirm with your gynac first.
Dont panic but dont ignore it either beta. Rest, drink lots of water and call your doctor if it goes up or stays. They'll tell you what's safe to take, dont self medicate.
My gynac told me that especially high fever in the first trimester should be treated quickly and only with doctor approved medicine. She said keep checking the temperature and inform her if it crosses a certain point. So pls dont ignore it.
I always called my doctor for anything during pregnancy, even fever, because they know your full history. Better to get checked and find the reason than wait it out. Keep your follow ups regular too.
High fever in pregnancy is not something to manage on your own, please call your doctor. I had a fever once and they told me to come in and checked the cause properly. Dont take random medicines, only what the doctor approves.
Fever can sometimes be a sign of an infection that needs treatment, so it shouldnt be brushed off in pregnancy. Mild ones with rest and fluids may pass, but anything high or persistent, see your doctor right away.
