I was taking a green tea supplement before I found out I am pregnant. Now I stopped for now because I am unsure. Has anyone asked their doc about extracts, not normal chai?
I would be careful here, green tea extract supplements are quite concentrated and high in caffeine, not the same as a casual cup. Please check with your doctor before taking any extract or supplement during pregnancy.
Natural doesnt always mean safe in pregnancy, and extracts are very concentrated. I kept to a small cup of regular green tea sometimes and avoided the capsules. For anything supplement based, ask your doctor first.
A normal light cup of green tea now and then is usually fine in limited amounts, but the concentrated extract is a different thing. Definitely run it past your gynac before using it, extracts can be strong.
I used to take green tea extract for fitness before, but I stopped during pregnancy and switched to a plain cup occasionally after asking my doctor. The supplement form felt too strong to risk. Better safe.
