I usually love drinking green tea, but now that I'm pregnant, I'm concerned. Is green tea considered harmful for pregnancy, or can I still have it in moderation?
Haan yaar, main toh bohot peeti thi pehle par pregnancy mein doc ne bola thoda kam karo. Isme bhi caffeine hota hai na, toh bilkul dhyan rakhna padta hai. Din mein ek cup chal jayega, par zyada mat peena.
Honestly, I just stopped drinking green tea entirely because I read too many mixed things online and didn't want any stress. I switched to warm lemon water or just plain milk. It's always best to do what makes u feel comfortable and safe.
Green tea is fine but dont overdo it because of the caffeine content. It can actually interfere with how your body absorbs folic acid, which is so important right now. If you really crave it, one small cup a day is more than enough, but maybe ask your gynac first.
My MIL was a bit worried when I asked for green tea, she preferred warm milk or ginger tea instead. But when I asked my doctor, she said one cup is totally fine, just dont have too much because of the caffeine. I trusted my doctor and kept it to a minimum.
I used to love my green tea before workouts! But during pregnancy, I reduced it to almost nothing because of the caffeine. Now I just focus on my light morning walks and gentle yoga stretches my doctor approved, which keeps my energy up way better than tea anyway.
I totally understand wanting to be 100% sure about everything u eat or drink. With IVF, I was super careful about everything too. Green tea does have caffeine, which blocks folic acid absorption a bit, so I completely avoided it. Just talk to your doctor and if u feel like having it, maybe keep it to just half a cup occasionally.
