Guava season is here and i honestly cant stop eating them, MIL keeps saying too much is not good. Im in second trimester. Just wanted to know is it actually healthy during pregnancy or should i go slow?
Guava is lovely, my mother always said it's a poor man's apple full of goodness. We ate it regularly during my pregnancy with no issues. As long as you wash it well and dont overdo the seeds, it's a healthy pick.
Beta guava is very good, full of vitamin C and fibre, helps with constipation which troubles everyone in pregnancy. We always ate it with a little kala namak. Just chew well and dont eat too many seeds at once.
Honestly guava is the best value fruit for pregnancy, cheap and loaded with vitamin C and fibre. I ate it almost daily instead of expensive imported stuff. Wash it well and you're good.
Guava was on my approved list even with sugar issues because it's lower GI than many fruits. I kept it to one small one a day though. Healthy choice overall, just watch the quantity if sugar is a concern.
I love guava as a snack, keeps me full and the fibre really helped my digestion during pregnancy. Pair it with a small walk after meals if your doc allows and you feel great. Totally safe and good choice.
