My MIL made haleem at home and everyone's eating it but i wasnt sure if its ok for me right now in second trimester. It has a lot of meat and ghee na, so just thinking. Anyone had it during pregnancy?
It is filling and good protein but honestly haleem can be heavy and has carbs from wheat. I had sugar issues so I kept my portion small. If u have GD pls check with ur doctor about the quantity.
Beta haleem is good, it gives strength, my mother always made it for pregnant ladies in our home. Just eat it warm and freshly made, not the outside one sitting for hours. Thoda kam masala rakho.
Haleem is actually quite nutritious na, it has dals, wheat and meat so good protein n iron. Just make sure its fresh and well cooked, and dont overdo the ghee. I ate it during Ramzan both pregnancies, no issue.
Nutrition wise its good, lots of protein and fiber. Just be careful the meat is fully cooked and avoid roadside ones. If u have any specific condition like diabetes, best to confirm portion with ur gynac.
Okay I LIVED on haleem this winter haha. Its actually one of the better cravings to have, so much protein. Just dont add extra fried onions and ghee like I wanted to, kept it sensible.
