I used to do hatha yoga regularly before and want to start again, im 14 weeks now. Just thoda confused if all the poses are ok or i need to skip some. Anyone doing yoga in pregnancy pls share what u follow?
Honestly, I got so scared to even stretch in my first trimester. I think Hatha yoga is supposed to be gentle, but what if u twist the wrong way? Please ask your gynac first and only do it under a proper prenatal certified trainer, don't take risks online.
Honestly, at 34 weeks, even getting up from the bed feels like hatha yoga to me! But jokes aside, gentle stretching is great, just don't try to become a pro yogi right now. Keep it super simple and keep a bottle of water close by.
It is actually very good for staying active, which really helped me manage my sugar levels later on. But make sure you don't overdo it or skip meals before doing yoga, otherwise your energy will crash. Just keep your doctor in the loop and do modified poses.
I was just searching about this yesterday! I am planning to conceive soon and wanted to start yoga to prepare my body. If you do find a good prenatal yoga class, please let me know, I really want to know if it helps with flexibility.
Beta, hatha yoga is generally safe and very good for breathing, but you must avoid any deep twists or lying flat on your stomach. Listen to your body and don't push yourself too hard. If any pose feels even slightly uncomfortable, just stop immediately and rest.
