Been getting headaches almost every day this week and im in my second trimester. Not sure if its just normal pregnancy thing or something I should mention to gynac. Anyone else dealt with this?
Most headaches are harmless and routine in pregnancy. I had thyroid so i was anyway in regular follow up, and i'd just mention any new symptom at my visits. That habit really helps, you catch anything off early. For a normal headache, rest and hydration usually do the job.
Mild headaches are super common, mostly from hormones, tiredness or skipping meals. I used to get them in my first trimester a lot. Rest, water, eat on time, that fixed most of mine. But a severe headache with blurry vision or swelling is different, that one you call the doctor for.
I used to freak out at every headache honestly. Mostly it was dehydration or no sleep, nothing scary. The ones to actually watch are sudden very bad ones with vision changes or swelling in hands and face, those need a doctor fast. Otherwise dont spiral like i did.
My gynac said in early pregnancy headaches are usually hormonal and from changes in blood flow, nothing dangerous. But she warned that in later pregnancy a strong headache could relate to blood pressure, so dont ignore that combo. For relief she suggested rest, fluids and only paracetamol if she okayed it, never random painkillers.
