Is heparin injection necessary after pregnancy is confirmed after ivf?
We did ivf after 4 yrs of trying and finally beta is positive, so happy but also nervous. The clinic mentioned heparin injections and im scared of needles. Did anyone here have to take these after their ivf positive, is it always required?
My doctor explained these injections are given in IVF pregnancies usually when there are clotting concerns or past losses, not routinely for everyone. So whether you need it depends on your specific case. Best to ask your treating doctor the exact reason for yours.
I had IVF and was put on those injections too, my doctor said it helps support the pregnancy in certain cases. It is not the same for everyone, it depends on your history. Please just follow exactly what your fertility doctor advises, dont stop or compare with others.
This is completely a doctor decision and varies person to person, please dont go by what others were given. If your fertility specialist prescribed it, there is a reason. Ask them directly why and for how long, never adjust it on your own.
