I usually take honey with warm water for my throat and cough. Now im in my second trimester and someone told me to avoid it. Is that true or can i keep having it?
It is safe but do remember its still sugar. With my diabetes I had to be careful with honey too, it spikes sugar like anything sweet. If your sugars are normal a little is okay.
We use a little honey with tulsi for cold at home and its been fine. Pure honey only though, the cheap mixed ones arent great. Anything more than that, just check with your doctor.
Beta honey is fine for you, a spoon in warm water for cough or throat is what we always did. Just remember the rule is no honey for the baby until one year old after birth, not for the mother.
Yes honey is safe for pregnant women, the warning about honey is only for infants under one year. I used it for sore throat both pregnancies. Just keep the amount sensible.
