I added some iceberg lettuce in my salad and then suddenly got confused if raw leaves are safe right now. Im in first trimester so being extra careful with everything. Anyone know if its fine yaar?
Iceberg lettuce has very low nutritional value compared to other greens anyway. If you really want to eat it, wash it thoroughly with a veggie wash to avoid listeria. Personally, I just avoided raw salads outside home.
Please be extremely careful with raw vegetables like lettuce during pregnancy. I always wash them three times or avoid them completely because of the risk of bacteria. Your safety and baby's safety is everything.
I know how stressful it is when even eating a simple salad feels like a risk, it's so tiring to worry. If you cook it or wash it really well at home, it's fine, but do whatever makes you feel safe and calm.
I read so many articles about listeria on lettuce and got so terrified that I threw out all salads from my fridge! Maybe I overreacted, but seriously, just make sure it's super clean if you eat it.
I actually love subway sandwiches with lettuce but I've been too scared to eat them lately! Is anyone else also avoiding raw salads completely? I worry so much about food safety these days.
