Im a bit confused with all the week counting tbh. They count from last period but pregnancy actually starts at implantation na? So which day is technically day one. Someone pls explain in simple words.
I had the same doubt! So implantation is not day one, the date is from last period right? I kept getting confused why my weeks looked more than I expected.
Actually doctors count pregnancy from the first day of your last period, not implantation. Its a bit confusing na. My gynac explained that implantation happens a week or so after ovulation but the dating starts earlier. Thats why the weeks feel ahead of when you conceived.
On all the apps too the count starts from last period date, not the day egg implants. So technically you are already 'weeks pregnant' before implantation by their counting. Took me a while to understand this logic honestly.
Medically the count begins from last menstrual period, implantation is a separate later step. The scan will give you the exact dating anyway, so dont worry too much about calculating it yourself.
