Im getting crazy cravings for instant noodles these days, indomie is my fav. But thoda guilty also, dont know if its okay to eat in pregnancy. anyone else craving this kind of stuff?
When I asked my clinical nutritionist at the hospital, she strictly advised against regular consumption of instant noodles like Indomie due to preservatives and high salt. She suggested healthier alternatives like homemade whole wheat vermicelli or adding lots of fresh veggies if I really wanted noodles.
I had intense noodle cravings during my pregnancy and did eat Indomie once in a while. But I made sure to add lots of veggies and an egg to make it a bit healthy, and drank plenty of water afterward. That was just my way of handling cravings.
Having had a miscarriage before, I became extremely cautious about processed foods. Instant noodles like Indomie have a lot of sodium and preservatives, so I completely avoided them to be safe. It is much better to eat fresh, home-cooked food for the baby's safety.
Look, eating instant noodles once in a blue moon is fine to satisfy a craving, but don't make it a regular habit. They are highly processed, packed with sodium, and offer zero nutrition. Add veggies if you eat them, but focus on real, fresh food most days.
During my first trimester, I felt so nauseous and the only thing I wanted to eat was spicy Indomie noodles. I ate them a few times but then felt so guilty about the lack of nutrition for my baby. It's okay to satisfy a craving occasionally, but try to limit it, dear.
Instant noodles have very little nutrition and lots of salt, which can cause bloating. Since I had a C-section, I realized how important good nutrition is for a smooth recovery later. Try to eat fresh meals, but if you really crave noodles, have them very rarely.
