My house has a lot of stairs, and I have to climb them multiple times a day. Is it considered good or safe to climb stairs regularly during pregnancy, or should I try to minimize it? I'm worried about any risks.
Haan na, everyone tells you not to climb stairs as if it's dangerous. But my gynac said it's good exercise if done gently. Just don't rush and take breaks if your building has many floors.
Be very careful while climbing, dear, especially as your belly grows and your center of gravity changes. Keep one hand on the railing always. If you have any cramping or spotting, avoid stairs completely and check with your doc.
In my experience, climbing stairs is perfectly fine if you do it slowly and have no complications. Just hold the railing and don't carry heavy bags. But if you feel tired or dizzy, please stop immediately.
It's completely safe unless your doctor has specifically put you on bed rest. I lived on the third floor with no lift and climbed daily till my 9th month. Just wear comfortable flats and watch your step.
When my nausea was bad, climbing stairs made me feel so out of breath and dizzy. If you feel fine, it's okay, but don't force yourself if you are feeling weak. Listen to your body and take it easy.
