I used to do simple yoga before conceiving, but after positive test I stopped out of fear. Now my back feels stiff and I miss stretching. Did anyone continue yoga after checking with doctor?
My family always encouraged gentle breathing and easy stretches in pregnancy and i found it calming. But i made sure to ask my doctor first and went to a prenatal class. Pranayama type breathing was lovely for me, no strain at all.
Prenatal yoga is generally very beneficial for flexibility and stress. The key is doctor clearance first and a teacher trained for pregnancy. It's not the same as normal yoga, so dont just follow random youtube videos for this.
The breathing parts of prenatal yoga really helped my anxiety, honestly more than i expected. Do go for the pregnancy specific style and check with ur gynac. On days you dont feel up to it, just rest, dont force it.
Good yes, but not your regular yoga, it has to be the pregnancy safe version. I did gentle stretches and breathing both times and it helped with labour breathing too. Skip poses on your stomach and deep twists, and get a trained prenatal teacher.
Yes but with a catch, do prenatal yoga specifically and only after your doctor says you can. I joined a proper prenatal class and it helped my back and breathing so much. Avoid intense twists and lying flat on the belly, the instructor guided me on that.
