It's mango season, and I'm really craving them! But I've heard conflicting opinions about eating mangoes during pregnancy. Is it generally considered good and safe to have mangoes, or should I avoid them?
Beta, mangoes are good but they have thoda heat. Just soak the mango in water for at least one hour before eating, our elders always said this to reduce the heat. But don't eat too many, limited is fine.
Honestly, even though mangoes are natural, every pregnancy is so different. Some people get heat or sugar spikes, so please check with your gynac once before eating daily. Safe side is always best.
I totally understand how hard it is to control those sweet cravings, especially with juicy mangoes around. Enjoy it in small portions sweetie, but just keep a little check on how much you have. Sending u so much love!
I am in my 5th month now and dying to eat aam daily but I feel so scared of getting gestational diabetes. Anyone else here eating it daily without issues? Do let me know pls.
Humare yahan toh ghar pe sab bolte hain ki ek aam dhoodh ke saath le sakte hain din mein. Bas zyada mat khao thoda heavy ho jata hai. Sweet and safe rakho apne baby ke liye.
Ah mango season is coming and we are planning to conceive soon, so even I was wondering about this! Good to know we can have it, i was thinking we have to totally avoid it.
I was also confused about mangoes, so I literally called my hospital coordinator to confirm. They checked with my consultant and said moderate eating is fine as long as sugar is normal. Better to just clear it with your own hospital staff to be 100% sure na.
Please be extremely careful, especially in later months. I had gestational diabetes and mangoes spiked my sugar like crazy. If you are eating it, just have a small slice after a walk and monitor your levels.
