Is it good to massage your breasts during pregnancy?
Third trimester and someone told me massaging helps prepare for breastfeeding later. But ive also heard it can cause contractions? thoda confused, wanted to know what u all think.
I felt so much fullness and tightness in my breasts and a light massage with coconut oil gave me real relief. I kept it very gentle. Honestly it also helped me feel a bit more prepared for feeding later. Nothing harsh though, just soft circular movements.
I won't give medical advice, I'll just say I did very light moisturising massage for dryness and it felt nice. I didn't do anything around the nipple area much. For anything specific I'd really ask your gynac since everyone's pregnancy is different.
Gentle massage is usually fine and can help with the soreness and heaviness, I did it with oil in my last trimester. Just be soft, nothing rough, and avoid too much nipple stimulation in late pregnancy since it can trigger contractions in some women. If you're high risk, ask your doctor first.
Soft massage for comfort and to apply oil, yes do it. But don't go overboard with the nipples in the last weeks, my doctor warned me it can stimulate contractions. For the dryness and heaviness a gentle rub is genuinely helpful.
