Is it good to sleep on right side during pregnancy?
Im 7 months and i naturally turn to my right side in sleep, feels more comfy. But everyone keeps saying only left is good. Is right side actually bad or its ok sometimes? genuinely confused yaar.
Initially, in your first trimester, sleeping on any side, right or left, is generally fine. But as your belly grows, especially from the second trimester onwards, doctors usually recommend sleeping on your left side. This helps with blood flow to the baby. For mild discomfort, a pillow between your knees helps. But for serious concerns, always check with your gynac.
Oh my god, I felt so confused about sleeping positions! In the first few months, I slept on my right side sometimes and it was fine. But later, my doc strictly told me left side only, or if not, then propped up. It's so hard to change your natural sleeping position, but you get used to it. The left side is best for blood flow to the baby.
Initially in pregnancy, sleeping on your right side is usually not an issue. But as you get bigger, especially in the second and third trimesters, it's recommended to sleep on your left side. This is because it helps with blood flow to your baby and uterus. I know it can be uncomfortable, so use a body pillow if it helps you stay on your left.
Haan, for now maybe, but later, sleeping on any side feels like an Olympic sport, yaar! Seriously, in the early trimesters, any position that's comfy is usually okay. But once your belly pops, your gynac will probably tell you to stick to the left side as much as possible for blood flow. Good luck trying to stay there all night, it's a mission!
I totally panicked about this too! In the beginning, it's generally fine. But as your tummy grows, the general advice is to favour the left side. My doctor explained that sleeping on the left side helps your blood circulation and is good for the baby. If you occasionally wake up on your right, don't worry, just shift back. You'll be okay.
My mother used to say sleep comfortably, but my doctor always emphasized sleeping on the left side after the first trimester. It helps in good blood circulation for both baby and me. Sometimes I would wake up on my right, but then just gently change. Don't stress, just try your best to sleep on the left, it's safer.
Beta, in the first trimester, it's usually okay to sleep on your right side. But as your pregnancy progresses, especially in the later months, most doctors advise sleeping on your left side. This position helps blood flow to the baby and prevents pressure on a major vein called the vena cava. So, try to get used to the left side slowly. Don't worry too much now!
