Is it necessary to take folic acid during pregnancy?
My gynac gave me folic acid tablets but honestly some days i forget to take them. Just want to understand how important it really is, dont wanna take it casually if it matters a lot.
It's one of the most well established things in pregnancy care, so yes take it. But always go with the dose your doctor gives, dont self decide. Mine was a specific combination tablet.
I actually started folic acid even while planning, my gynac told me to begin before conceiving. So good to know it's this important. Thanks for asking this, I was wondering the same.
Yes it's really important, especially in the first trimester. Folic acid helps prevent neural tube defects in the baby, that's why doctors start it even before conception ideally. Just take whatever dose your gynac prescribed, dont skip it.
Absolutely yes, both times my doctor put me on folic acid right away. It's one of those non negotiable things in early pregnancy. Take it regularly with your meals so you dont forget.
