Is it necessary to take progesterone during pregnancy?
My gynac has put me on progesterone support and im 8 weeks. Some of my friends were never given it so now im wondering why mine is needed. Is it a common thing? just want to understand a bit more.
After my earlier loss my doctor put me on progesterone as support and it helped me feel reassured. But this is very personal and decided by your gynac. Please dont self medicate, just trust your doctor's plan.
In my IVF pregnancy progesterone support was a must, my doctor prescribed it for many weeks. It is not the same for everyone though. Please just follow whatever your gynac advises for your case.
My doctor said it is given only when needed, like for low progesterone or history of loss, not for everyone. So it really depends on your individual situation. Never start or stop it without your gynac.
