I'm in my first trimester, and I'm feeling incredibly lazy and tired all the time. I'm finding it hard to get things done. Is it normal to feel so lazy during pregnancy, or should I be concerned?
In my experience, I was so incredibly lazy in my first trimester that I couldn't even get up to brush my teeth some days! My energy levels only came back a bit in the second trimester, but then again in the third trimester, I was back to being a couch potato. It was just my body's way of dealing with all the changes.
Looking back, I feel so glad I slept as much as I did during pregnancy because now with a toddler, sleep is just a luxury! Trust me, that "laziness" is just extreme fatigue because your hormones are working double shift. Enjoy this quiet time and guilt-free sleep while you still have it.
This is actually my biggest worry because I am already a bit lazy normally, haha! I keep reading about how exhausted pregnant women feel, especially in the early weeks. It's so reassuring to see everyone saying it's completely normal and okay to just rest.
Oh my dear, please don't call yourself lazy! Your body is literally building a new life from scratch, which takes a massive amount of energy. It is completely normal to feel exhausted and want to sleep all day, so please listen to your body, ignore the household chores, and take all the rest you need.
It's 100% normal and honestly, let's stop calling it laziness! It's fatigue, and your body is demanding rest because it’s doing heavy lifting internally. Don't feel guilty about skipping workouts or ordering food if you're tired, just prioritize your peace and sleep.
