Is it normal to have frequent headaches during pregnancy?
Been getting headaches almost every other day since the start of my second trimester. I dont want to keep popping anything so im just bearing it. Is this a normal pregnancy thing or should i mention it to my gynac?
Occasional headaches are normal, but I'll gently say, if they become very frequent or severe, or come with vision changes, swelling or high BP, please get checked, that can signal a BP problem. I had to watch this closely. For normal mild ones, water, rest and food usually help, but loop in your doctor for the persistent ones.
My mum used to make me lie down in a quiet dark room with a cool cloth on my forehead and have something to eat and drink, and the headaches would settle. They were quite frequent for me too in the beginning. Just don't ignore a really bad one, get the doctor to check then.
I felt so many headaches especially in the first few months and it scared me, but my doctor said it's common with the hormone changes, low water and tiredness. What helped me was drinking more water, eating on time and napping in a dark room. It eased up as the pregnancy went on.
Pretty common, especially early on, usually from hormones, dehydration, skipping meals or lack of sleep. Drink water, don't stay empty stomach, rest your eyes. But don't pop any painkiller on your own, ask your gynac. And a severe headache with blurred vision or swelling later in pregnancy needs a doctor immediately.
Haan yaar I had headaches a lot in my first trimester, actually it was mostly because I wasn't drinking enough water and skipping breakfast. Once I fixed that it got way better. Just don't take any tablet without asking doc na, and if it's really bad get it checked.
