Is it normal to have periods during pregnancy?

Im around 7 weeks and saw some bleeding today, almost like my period. Got really worried. Wanted to know if some women actually get periods in pregnancy or i should rush to gynac. Pls share.

My gynac explained you dont actually get a true period during pregnancy, but some light spotting can happen early on. She said any real bleeding should be reported. So dont assume its just a period if you are pregnant.

Please dont ignore bleeding during pregnancy thinking its a period. I had spotting and got it checked immediately, which was the right call. Always inform your doctor if you bleed.
