Im 5 months along and i keep bending to pick up things or do small ghar ke kaam, then immediately feel guilty thinking im harming baby. My MIL scolds me everytime i bend. Is it actually unsafe na?
Yaar relax, thoda bending is totally normal. Actually the bigger problem later is getting back up, not the bending itself haha. Just dont lift super heavy stuff and use your legs to go down.
My prenatal yoga instructor showed me how to squat instead of bending from the waist, takes pressure off the back. But check with your doctor before any new movements if you have any pain. For me gentle bending was always okay.
Normal bending is fine, you wont hurt the baby just by picking something up. But bend from your knees not your waist, your back will thank you later. In third trimester it just gets harder anyway so you bend less naturally.
I felt scared to even bend down for my slippers in the beginning! My gynac laughed and said baby is well cushioned, just be careful of balance. Squatting down felt much easier than bending over for me.
