We got married a bit late and im turning 36 this year, finally planning for a baby. Everyone around me keeps saying im getting older for this and it makes me anxious. Anyone here who conceived around this age?
Yes its quite common now to have babies in mid 30s. The only thing is doctors monitor a bit more closely and may suggest some additional screening, which is just precaution. A preconception checkup with your gynac is a good idea to start right.
I conceived at 38 after a long journey and i want to tell you, age is just one part of it. Take care of your health, do your folic acid and listen to your doctor. Be gentle with yourself, your body is doing something beautiful.
Dont let the number scare you sweetheart. So many of my friends had healthy pregnancies at 36, 37, even 39. Just go for your regular tests and eat well, your doctor will guide you through it nicely.
My doctor told me that after 35 they just keep a closer eye and may recommend tests like the double marker or NT scan. It doesnt mean something will go wrong, its just extra care. Many women do beautifully, so go ahead with proper guidance.
Absolutely it is, i had my second at 37 and everything was fine. Yes doctors call it higher age so they do a few extra tests and scans, but plenty of women have healthy babies in late 30s. Just stay regular with your checkups.
