There is a blood donation camp at my office next week and I usually donate. But we are trying to conceive this cycle so now im not sure if I should. Will it affect anything? Bit confused, anyone done this?
Looking back, my doctor told me that when trying to conceive, it's best to keep your iron reserves high. So I skipped donating that year. You can always donate later once your baby is born and healthy!
Haan na, it is better to avoid it right now because your body needs all the iron and strength to prepare for the baby. Agar conceive ho gaya toh hemoglobin levels starting se hi acche hone chahiye.
Honestly, don't do it. Pregnancy takes a huge toll on your iron and blood levels, and you don't want to start your pregnancy with a deficiency. Focus on building your own health first right now.
I actually wanted to donate blood when we were trying, but my MIL stopped me saying we should save energy and iron. Did anyone else's doctor tell them to avoid blood donation while actively trying?
If you are actively in your active cycle, you might already be pregnant and not know it yet, so donating is risky. It's best to wait until your period arrives, or just avoid donating until you are done with your pregnancy journey.
